Ad Astra turns long-term survival into a space program. It adds rockets, space suits, machines, fuel processing, oxygen systems, rovers, space stations, and five worlds to visit: the Moon, Mars, Venus, Mercury, and Glacio. The journey begins on the ground, where every launch needs preparation instead of a single crafted item.
Start with a Launch Base
Your first objective is to create a small technical area near your base. Use the in-game guidebook to follow the recipes, then work toward power generation, processing machines, fuel production, and the Rocket Workbench. Keep the machines close together: cables move energy, pipes handle fluids, and the water pump becomes useful once the base needs a steady water supply.
Do not rush the rocket as soon as you unlock its parts. Prepare fuel first, make space-suit equipment, and keep extra resources at home. A launch pad with a fueled rocket feels much more satisfying when it is part of a functioning base rather than an isolated build placed in a field.
The Moon is a good first destination because it teaches the main rhythm of Ad Astra: land, secure a safe area, collect local materials, and return with something that helps the next stage. The early game has a clear sense of progress because each trip gives your base a new purpose.
Flying Beyond the Overworld
After entering a rocket, choose a destination and begin the launch. Every new world has its own terrain, atmosphere, materials, mobs, and building blocks. The Moon offers the first real taste of space exploration, while Mars, Venus, Mercury, and Glacio make later expeditions feel more demanding and visually different.
Oxygen distribution becomes important when you want to stay outside the Overworld for longer. Build a sealed shelter, connect an oxygen system, and create a place where you can store supplies, repair equipment, and plan the next trip. Airlocks, reinforced doors, metal plating, and planet-specific blocks help these bases look like real outposts instead of ordinary Minecraft houses.
Use the rover when the landing site is far from the area you want to explore. It makes crossing rough alien terrain easier and gives expeditions a practical vehicle instead of forcing every trip on foot.
Keep Exploring
Ad Astra works best when each planet becomes part of your world, not just a place you visit once. Bring back planetary materials, expand your machine room, improve your rockets, and build a base that reflects where you have traveled. A Mars bunker, a frozen Glacio station, or a high-tech lunar base can become a major project on its own.
Space stations add another milestone for players who want a permanent home above the planet. By then, the game is no longer only about reaching space—it is about building a connected world across several destinations.
