Alex’s Caves expands underground exploration with rare biomes that work as separate destinations rather than simple cave variations. Each area has its own terrain, atmosphere, creatures, resources, equipment, and survival mechanics.
Six Rare Underground Biomes
The mod adds Magnetic Caves, Primordial Caves, Toxic Caves, Abyssal Chasm, Forlorn Hollows, and Candy Cavity. Their environments differ in lighting, fog, particles, vegetation, hazards, and available materials.
Magnetic Caves focus on metal and magnetism, while Primordial Caves contain prehistoric plants and creatures. Toxic Caves are filled with radioactive waste and industrial dangers. Abyssal Chasm takes exploration deep underwater, Forlorn Hollows creates a dark and unsettling environment, and Candy Cavity builds an entire ecosystem around sweets.
These biomes contain new mobs with their own behavior, including both dangerous enemies and creatures that can be used or tamed. Collected resources provide access to weapons, armor, tools, food, vehicles, and unusual devices connected to each cave’s theme.
The biomes are intentionally difficult to locate. Start by finding an Underground Cabin containing Cave Tablets and the Cave Compendium. The tablets help locate specific caves, while the book explains their mechanics, materials, and creatures.
Each biome uses custom visual effects and lighting. Some shaders can change these effects or make caves harder to see, so the original appearance may work better without them.

How to Install Alex’s Caves
- Download Alex’s Caves and Citadel for the same Minecraft version.
- Move both JAR files into the mods folder.
- Launch Minecraft and search for an Underground Cabin.
