Applied Energistics 2 is a technology mod focused on digital storage, resource management, and automation. It replaces large chest rooms with a compact ME network where thousands of items can be stored, searched, and used for crafting.
ME Storage and Automated Crafting
The central part of the mod is the ME system. Storage Cells hold resources digitally, while an ME Drive keeps several cells in one block. Players can access everything through an ME Terminal or craft directly from the ME Crafting Terminal.
Import and Export Buses move items between the network and machines. Storage Buses connect existing chests or drawers, while Interfaces help integrate other devices. With Pattern Providers, Molecular Assemblers, and crafting CPUs, the network can automatically produce requested items, including recipes with multiple stages.
How to Start
Begin by finding a meteorite with the Meteorite Compass. Mine Certus Quartz and break the Mysterious Cube inside the meteorite to collect four Inscriber presses. These presses are required for creating processors and advanced components.
Next, produce Charged Certus Quartz and combine it with Redstone and Nether Quartz in water to make Fluix Crystals. Build an Inscriber, prepare several processors, and assemble your first network. A basic setup requires an Energy Acceptor, ME Drive, Storage Cell, cables, and a terminal. Later, you can add controllers, smart cables, wireless access points, and larger automated crafting systems.

- Download the AE2 file matching your Minecraft version and mod loader.
- Check the download page for required dependencies.
- Place all downloaded JAR files in the mods folder.
- Launch Minecraft and create or open a world.
