BetterEnd completely rebuilds the End dimension with new terrain, biomes, creatures, resources, and progression. It turns the empty islands beyond the dragon arena into a large world worth exploring for more than End Cities and elytra.
A New End to Explore
The custom world generator creates islands at different heights and gives them more varied shapes than the flat vanilla terrain. Caves can form inside the islands, hiding new stone types, ores, plants, and other materials. The central island also receives updated terrain and additional structures.
More than 24 biomes appear across the dimension. Each one has its own vegetation, colors, landscape, ambient effects, music, and sounds. The sky is replaced with a bright field of stars and purple nebulas, giving the entire dimension a more distinct atmosphere.
Exploration also introduces six new creatures, including biome-specific variations. Some are peaceful parts of the environment, while others protect valuable locations and resources. Their designs match the unusual plants and terrain rather than feeling like ordinary Overworld mobs moved into the End.
Resources, Equipment, and Rituals
BetterEnd provides nine wood sets and seven new stone types for construction. These materials include matching blocks for floors, walls, roofs, furniture, and detailed builds, allowing players to create bases that fit the dimension.
New resources are also used to craft food, tools, armor, and weapons. The equipment system introduces its own progression, giving players a reason to collect materials from different islands instead of relying only on diamond or netherite gear.
Infusion Rituals add a separate method for producing magical items, while new anvil recipes expand material processing. Together with the custom caves and biome resources, these mechanics create a connected path from exploration to crafting rather than a collection of unrelated decorative blocks.
