Goety is a dark magic mod inspired by Minecraft’s illagers and Evokers. It lets you collect Soul Energy, cast spells, summon servants, brew unusual potions, and build a base around forbidden rituals.
The mod has its own progression, so new powers are gradually unlocked through crafting, combat, exploration, and collected resources.
Use the Power of Souls
Soul Energy is the central resource in Goety. Start by crafting a Totem of Roots and fill it by defeating mobs. Later, a Totem of Souls stores this energy for your spells, rituals, and servants. Different mobs can provide different amounts, which makes hunting specific creatures part of the progression instead of simple grinding.
Spells use Wands or Staffs with Focuses. Each focus gives access to a different magical effect. You can summon fangs from the ground, attack enemies with elemental magic, protect yourself, or control the battlefield from a distance. Robes and magical equipment support this playstyle and help make your character feel like a proper dark mage rather than a player holding one powerful item.
Summoned servants are another major part of the mod. They can fight beside you, defend your base, and take pressure off during difficult encounters. Goety also adds custom mobs, structures, brewing options, magical artifices, and loot that gives you reasons to explore instead of staying near the first altar you build.
Use JEI to check recipes and available focuses as you progress. If Patchouli is installed, you can craft the Black Book for in-game information about the mod’s features and crafting paths.
