Mekanism gives Minecraft a full technology path built around machines, power, automation, and efficient resource processing.
You can begin with a small ore-processing setup, then gradually build a factory that moves items, fluids, gases, energy, and heat between different machines.
Turn Every Ore into More Resources
The main reason to start Mekanism is Ore Processing. Basic machines already improve the way raw materials are handled, while later processing lines can double, triple, quadruple, or even quintuple the ingots gained from one ore. Each step needs more machines, power, and chemical materials, so the system grows naturally with your base.
Begin with a few machines for crushing and processing ores, then connect them with cables and transporters. As your supply increases, upgrade machines into factories.
Factory Upgrades let one block process several items at the same time: three, five, seven, or nine jobs depending on the factory tier. This saves space and keeps large production lines easier to manage.
Build Machines That Work Together
Mekanism has transmitters for items, fluids, gases, energy, and heat. Configure your machines to accept materials from one side and send results through another, then use Logistical Transporters to create filtered sorting routes. This makes it possible to connect farms, processing rooms, storage, and generators without constantly moving items by hand.
When basic mining becomes too slow, craft a Digital Miner. It can search for selected blocks underground using filters, allowing you to target specific ores instead of digging through every layer yourself. Later equipment such as hydrogen-powered jetpacks and the Robit companion gives your base more useful tools beyond processing and storage. Mekanism rewards organized builds. Keep your first machines close to a power source, leave room for new transport lines, and expand one production chain at a time.

How to Install Mekanism
- Download the Mekanism file for your Minecraft version.
- Move the .jar file into the Minecraft mods folder.
- Launch the game and craft your first basic machines.
- Connect them to power and begin processing ores.
