C2ME is a Fabric performance mod focused on the part of Minecraft that usually becomes painful first on large worlds: chunks. It improves chunk generation, loading, and saving by using several CPU cores at the same time. The difference is most noticeable when you explore new terrain, generate a world with datapacks, teleport long distances, or run a server with several active players.
Faster Chunks for Busy Worlds
Vanilla Minecraft often handles chunk work in a limited way, so one CPU core can become the bottleneck while the rest of the processor is barely used. C2ME spreads more of this work across available cores. A good processor will therefore have a much bigger effect than it does in a regular installation.
The mod is useful for survival servers, modpacks, pregenerating a map with tools such as Chunky, and worlds with large terrain datapacks. Loading an already explored area can feel smoother, but the stronger gain usually comes from creating new chunks and saving them to disk.
C2ME keeps vanilla world-generation behaviour by default. Heavily modified world generators can have compatibility issues because they may assume that generation happens on one thread. Make a backup before adding C2ME to an established world, especially if your pack includes unusual terrain mods or custom generation code.
For the best result, C2ME is often used together with Lithium and other Fabric optimization mods.
